Who is Mason Luke?
I am, and let me tell you how I got to where I am today.
I went to college right after high school, and needed to make some extra money while in school. I decided to join an Adult Novelty Company doing Home Parties. My sister had been with a particular company for a few years and I had seen her making money while having fun. Who wouldn't want to make money selling dildos, RIGHT?! I joined and did home parties (and dorm parties) for several years. I took a break during my senior year of college through graduation, I eventually came back when I was ready to devote some more time to the business.
In Jan. 2016 the company I had been selling for was sold to another home party business (to remain nameless). When I discovered this new company's policy about NO MEN, I was floored! This particular company didn't allow male consultants, co-ed parties, or even a heterosexual couple at a party!! What is this the 1920's? Do they not realize men want the same respect and opportunity to see products before buying as well? I decided I wasn't going to stay with such a gender discriminatory company!
It didn't take long to think of what would be my next home novelty company. I had seen this open and accepting company at a PRIDE event in just the last couple years. I remember vividly that this company had LGBTQ+ specific marketing materials and thinking at the time, "WOW, now that's a company who's inclusive of the LGBTQ+ Community." In my mind, to devote resources to make specific marketing materials meant something to me, VALUE. They valued ME! They put money into seeking me (a queer identified person) as a potential client. So, I found a local consultant with Athena's and joined! I was with them for 2 years and it was extremely motivating! There is so much I love about this company! From the founder and CEO, who I have had many personal conversations with, to the office staff that support all the business operations, to the consultants around the US, many of whom I have gotten to meet, (thanks to travel I could finally afford due to my business), to amazing products I got to share with my family, friends and customers. This company is a rock star at launching people into success.
I did some consultant training for them on gender and sexuality, because they valued this demographic so much they wanted their consultants to have more training available to them. I even got the privilege to go on stage at a corporate meeting and introduce their first product specifically designed for Transgender Men.
By now, you might be wondering why would I leave such an awesome company in that case? This was one of the hardest business decision I ever had to make. In fact, even once I knew I had to make this hard choice I still put it off for 6 months. After spending a week at Sex Geek Summer Camp, doing some real self exploration, and getting back to be basics with my business, I finally had that big, "Ah-ha moment." Which is, I was slowly being pulled into my calling to primarily work with the LGBTQ+ Community. This marginalized community needed someone to be an expert on products made for their specific sexuality and gender expression. While many major companies market to the LGBTQ+ Community, many have no life experience in this arena, and haven't taken the time to research it well. Today, I am trying to help narrow the gap between corporate marketing and those in this community. I want these folks to have access to affordable, high quality products that will work for them in their sexual preferences and gender expression.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPPORT!
Over this past year, I have also discovered YouTube as a platform for sharing reviews. This started out of a personal desire to share information about products, that I bought for personal use and most of the time were not what I was expecting. I was getting so fed up with buying products and wasting money on them just to find out they didn't work! I didn't want others to waste their hard earned money for something that would fail them too.
As I found products that worked, I also wanted to let people know! This is how I got introduced unintentionally to affiliate programs. An affiliate program allows a company (manufacturer or distributor) to contract with individuals to facilitate sales, with a portion of the sale going to the person marketing on their behalf. In my first affiliate program I opted out of getting the financially compensated because, instead I found value in receiving and reviewing more products from that company. Today, I have several affiliate websites that I recommend for specific products.
As I did more reviews, more companies began to approach me for their products to be tested and reviewed. If your company would like me to review a product, please see my disclosures/policies page. I will continue to do product testing and reviews, because I see this as a customer service that helps my customers find the right products. I look forward to doing more reviews, my only request is that if my review help you pick that perfect product, please buy through the recommended source. Many times that's the only way to track that my reviews were effective AND to allow me to keep getting products from those particular vendors.
THANKS FOR YOUR CUSTOMER LOYALTY
I continue to look for opportunities to pass on the education I have learned about Gender, Sexuality, Prosthetics and other body safe products. I have presented at the Keystone Conference in 2017 and 2018, the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference in 2018, for Corporate Trainings, as well as other smaller venues.
